1. What is Behavioral Targeting (BT)?
Behavioral targeting uses information collected on an individual's web-browsing
behavior, such as the pages they have visited or the searches they have made, to
target content and/or advertisements specific for that user. Behavioral targeting techniques may also be applied to any online property on the premise that it either improves the visitor experience or it benefits the online property, typically through increased conversion rates or increased levels of spend. 2. How can I use BT with BTBuckets?
You tell us! We purposely created a tool that allows for any type of behavioral targeting. There are practically infinite forms of using visitor behavior to create segments and target specific content. We have created a community website where we will highlight integration examples and site cases. If you have found a good use, please let us know.
3. How much does BTBuckets cost?
It’s free. Even though we're out of beta release, we will maintain a 5 milion monthly cap for each site for free. If you do have a site with more than 5 MM monthly page views, please contact us.
4. What about privacy?
Privacy is very important. With great power, comes great responsibility. Please review CAREFULLY our privacy policy. BTBuckets uses first-party cookies to control behavioral segments. We created an easy opt-out program for end users. This is a general BTBuckets optout service. Once a user optouts of BTBuckets, the service will not target users on any sites.
If your site uses BTBuckets you must update your site’s privacy policy to mention BTBuckets and link to our Opt-out link.
5. Will BTBuckets affect my site performance? Tell us a little about your infra-structure.
BTBuckets was designed for performance, working with best site performance practices such as javascript caching and cookie compression. We currently work with two cloud-computing suppliers: Amazon’s AWS and Google App-Engine. We believe these partners offer excellent infra-structure solutions.
6. Do you have an API? How do I integrate BTBuckets with my CMS or any other system on my site?
Integration can be made either on client-side javascript or server-side cookie methods. Please read our blog for examples of integration with other tools.
7. How long does information take to be updated?
Your clusters should start working in 10 minutes. Reports are updated hourly.
8. How to check the service status?
We treat performance very seriously. We understand that the BTBuckets tag will be installed on all pages of your site, and we want to guarantee the best experience for your users. We want to be transparent and offer a third-party audit of response time to BTBuckets tags. This report contains informarmation of response time from various locations in the world. Go check it out.
