About the Company
BTBuckets is a free SaaS web segmentation and behavioral targeting tool using cloud-computing to match content to user behavior. BTBuckets is privately held and was founded in October 2008 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Where did the idea come from?
BTBuckets was founded by webanalytics and adserving professionals fascinated by the possibilities of using anonymous user behavior to match ad and content. Realizing that most sites were not maximizing user navigation information to improve engagement, we believed that offering a simple and free service – we can help change the internet experience.

How is BTBuckets built?
Using the know-how of developing webanalytics and adserving platforms for almost 10 years, we built an optimized, scalable and simple tool. BTBuckets uses LAMP on Amazon EC2 and Python/BigTable on Google's AppEngine.

So its free … how do you make money?
Isn't that the beauty of web2.0? We truly believe that we can leave our legacy through BTBuckets. But yes, we also think we can make money, in 2010 or 2011. Our business model will be based on large sites (with over 5 million requests per month) and professional services (such as advanced support). Our costs are very low and our budget can support dozens of billion of monthly requests for dozens of months.

What's next?
We want BTBuckets to become ubiquitous. We are creating simple API integrations that will allow sites to combine user behavior on all of their websystems.
